Jenny Rogneby
Jenny Rogneby was born in Ethiopia in 1974 but adopted to a family in the far north of Sweden at the age of one. As a child, Jenny’s musical talent was discovered, and she was put in piano- and dancing classes – the beginning of her first career as a pop artist. She has released an album in Japan, been the opening act for Michael Jackson in Estonia and competed in the Swedish semi-final for the Eurovision Song Contest.
While her music career progressed, Jenny Rogneby got incresingly interested in human behavior and in the questions of what lies behind the choices we make and how society affects us. She began studying criminology, sociology, law, and psychology at Stockholm University where she later earned a degree in Criminology. For seven years she worked professionally as a Criminal Investigator at Stockholm City Police Department. The work inspired her to start writing and she created the character Leona Lindberg, a police investigator who balances a double life with one foot on each side of the law. The Leona Series is a Swedish best-selling book series and has been translated into 14 languages. The film rights have been acquired in the US.
In 2022, Jenny Rogneby published the first book in her new crime series which follows the mediator Angela Lans, who works tirelessly to implement mediation into the justice system. The next book will be published during 2023.
