Meri Korpela and Aleksi Korpela

Meri Korpela (b. 1990) and Aleksi Korpela (b. 1986) are new to picture book publishing but the two share a background in art and design: they are artists, sculptors and graphic designers.

The talented duo brought out their first picture book in 2019, which was the first in the charming Fearless Field-mouse series. In these pictures books, Meri and Aleksi bring the stories to life through traditional-styled, yet vividly fresh illustrations. These stories centre around a timid field mouse whose superpower becomes his good will to others. 

Meri writes the stories and Aleksi illustrates, but they share the creative process and work on the details together.
