Pete Leppänen

Ever since discovering rock music at a young age and playing his first notes on a guitar, Pete Leppänen (b. 1975) has followed his musical dreams. Ten albums, hundreds of gigs and thousands of kilometres later, he had collected lifelong memories from tours around Finland and abroad. Next, he decided to set a new direction to fulfil his dreams in the world of rock.

With his 30 years of experience from the underground world of rock ‘n’ roll and a touch of imagination, Pete came up with the story about Rock the Rabbit, an underdog and daydreamer, and Rolla the Owl, his howling companion, the budding rock stars of the village of Trickythicket.

Pete Leppänen lives in Helsinki. He works as a publishing manager in the field of translated literature and of course music books. After business hours, he continues to create new rock tunes with his guitar to inspire the adventures of Rock and Rolla.

“I wanted to combine an animal fairy tale and an ode to rock ‘n’ roll. I was thinking of all the little rockers out there, but also their parents, rock n’ roll moms and dads like me, who are desperately searching for something new and inspiring for a bedtime story.”
