Ville Ranta

Ville Ranta (b. 1978) is an internationally renowned graphic novelist and one of Finland’s best-known cartoonists.

Ranta has authored several graphic novels and albums that have been translated into various languages including Swedish, French, and German. His expressive style and satirical, contemplative narrative are distinctive, easily recognizable, and have been awarded many times over.

Ranta’s works are particularly well known in France, where he has received the National Order of Merit of the French State. In Finland his numerous accolades include the Finnish State Prize, the Puupäähattu Award, and the Finlandia Prize for Comics.
