Tatu and Patu’s Fantasy Adventure

By Aino Havukainen & Sami Toivonen

Tatu and Patu return to embark upon a fantasy adventure! Embrace yourself for wizards and battles as the new Tatu and Patu story takes both the characters and readers into a magical world that will need the help of the Oddville boys.

In this Tatu and Patu book, the duo’s love of fantasy opens the world of Avathor as they discover a passage through their bathroom mirror cabinet. Tatu and Patu have read about the legend of Avathor’s queen countless times, so they are ready to take action! In fact, they learn that Avathor is on the verge of chaos, therefore Tatu and Patu get the chance to use all their warrior and wizarding skills.

Impressively illustrated, this peculiarly funny fantasy story shows the classic characters saving a kingdom by the use of cotton wool buds and soap, for example. This book by the talented duo Havukainen and Toivonen is a brilliant pastiche of fantasy genre with Tatu and Patu’s genious humour.

‘Along with the danger and adventures, there are also some everyday aspects – a floor squeegee, toilet paper, cotton wool buds – and without giving out the plot too much, it can be said that these things work surprisingly well in the fantasy world.’

– Helsingin Sanomat newspaper’s interview of the duo

Along with Fantasy Adventure, the celebrated duo have also written and illustrated other fun genre titles such as Tatu and Patu: Superheroes! and Tatu and Patu’s Adventures in Outer Space.
