Eppu Nuotio

About

Eppu Nuotio (b. 1962) writes for adults, children, theatre and TV. Her wide-ranging writing encompasses novels, radio plays, theatre plays and TV screenplays. She is known, not only as a writer, but also as an actress, a translator, and a director.

Nuotio’s thrillers have been critical, as well as commercial, successes in Finland. Her popular six-part TV series features Pii Marin, a heroine full of contradictions.

In her novels, Eppu Nuotio emphasises current events and headline topics such as racism and multiculturalism. The series’ ability to hook readers is also due to the sensitive interplay between the individual and society: topics include much-talked-about issues ranging from honour killings to child abduction.
