Eppu Nuotio

About

Eppu Nuotio (b. 1962) writes for adults, children, theatre and TV. Her wide-ranging writing encompasses novels, radio plays, theatre plays and TV screenplays. She is known, not only as a writer, but also as an actress, a translator, and a director.

Nuotio’s novels have been both commercial and critical successes in Finland. Her latest cosy crime series on a Miss-Marple -like character Ellen Spring has charmed the readers and book club members.

In her novels, Eppu Nuotio emphasises current events and headline topics such as racism and multiculturalism. The series’ ability to hook readers is also due to the sensitive interplay between the individual and society: topics include much-talked-about issues ranging from honour killings to child abduction.
