MARIANNA KURTTO (b. 1980) is an acclaimed author who has published five poetry collections, won the Kalevi Jäntti and Tiiliskivi prizes and been nominated for the Helsingin Sanomat literary prize.
Kurtto has studied creative writing and English philology and has translated several contemporary authors into Finnish. Having lived her whole life in Helsinki, she recently moved in a writer-in-residence house in the Finnish countryside with her dog. Her first novel Tristania was published to glowing reviews and nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize.
