German rights for Wild House Trilogy by Siri Kolu sold to Fischer Verlag

09 Dec 2019

We are happy to share the news that the German rights to Wild House Trilogy (Villitalo) by Siri Kolu have been sold to FISCHER Kinder- und Jugendbuch Verlag after an exciting three-way auction.  Also, the Turkish rights have been sold to Ayrinti Yayinlari.

Fischer’s editor Gesa Kunter acquired the rights to all three books which is a great start launching the international sales of the trilogy, and reflects Siri Kolu’s allure as a frontline children’s author. The first book has been published in Finnish in October 2019.

Gesa Kunter shared her thoughts:

“Wild House series is fantastic, so funny and exciting. We would like to welcome Siri Kolu not only with her great books but as an advocate of themes of diversity and freedom of childhood.”

Wild House is a contemporary middle-grade adventure with speedy chasing scenes, secretive characters, Cluedo-like problem solving – and a house so full of secrets that it grows legs and runs away. The storyline is illustrated in black and white by Johanna Lumme. Siri Kolu’s other award-winning The Robbersons series has been translated into more than 20 languages, and every year sees more new translations of Me and the Robbersons (Me Rosvolat), most recently in English, Spanish and Faroese.
