Linda Bondestam nominated for the ALMA award

This week has been an amazing week for Linda Bondestam who received nominations for two prestigious literature awards – first the August Prize and now the ALMA Award.

The acclaimed author and illustrator was nominated for the 2021 Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, alongside four other leading creators from Finland. 

The Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award (ALMA) is the world’s greatest award for children’s and young adult literature. The list of nominees includes a vast variety of authors, illustrators, oral storytellers and reading promoters. The aim of the award is to promote interest in children’s and young adult literature with a glorious collection of wonderful nominees. Here are more details about the award and all the candidates.

Next spring in total 263 fantastic candidates from 69 countries are in the running for the award. The new laureate will be announced on the 13th of April 2021.
