Publishing Weekly Wrap-Up April 19th – 23rd

23 Apr 2021

This week has been all about a bunch of newly translated editions flowing into the office from all over the world. It’s time for our Publishing Weekly Wrap-Up that shares the latest activities, news, deals and much more from the past week. Here are the latest highlights.

We’re kicking off this week’s highlights with the cover of Siri Kolu’s anarchic kids’ bestseller ME AND THE ROBBERSONS (Me Rosvolat) that will be published by Little Tiger this June. We can’t wait for UK readers to get their hands on the book and join the Robbersons fan gang.

Kolu’s road trip adventure featuring a sweet-loving gang of robbers has been a massive hit over the years and it has won numerous international awards including Finlandia Junior Prize in 2010 and the Dutch Silver Slate Pencil award in 2012. In 2018 the book was selected as an Honour Title at London Book Fair in Book Trust’s In Other Words competition for children’s books in translation. The film adaptation was released in 2014.

To hear more about the author and get a sneak peek of this candylicious madcap adventure book’s English version, check out this clip where editor Mattie Whitehead has a chat with Siri Kolu.

This week’s other newly translated editions include titles by Oili Tanninen and Aino Havukainen and Sami Toivonen.

Hippu and Friends, the four-book series by Oili Tanninen have just been published in Korean by Inori Publishing.
