Tuomas Oskari writes for the economics and politics resorts in Finland’s biggest newspaper Helsingin Sanomat and spent four years as their correspondent in Washington DC. His debut book Their Turn to Burn has been well received by readers in Finland and has appealed to readers outside the usual thriller audience, especially younger readers.
“People seem to enjoy is that it’s a fast-paced story with super high stakes but it’s not too dark”, says Tuomas Oskari.

”The feeling of time running out is obviously an old trick, for example, Dan Brown does it really well and so do many others. It’s not the most important single way to create suspense in my story but it did make this story more intense and I’m happy with how it turned out”, explains the author.
He also shares how his career in journalism inspired his writing and how his years in Washington D.C. reflected in his debut. We also hear how the genre and other thriller authors have influenced Tuomas Oskari.
