Catherine Anyango Grünewald

Catherine Anyango Grünewald (b. 1982) is a Swedish-Kenyan artist. She studied at Central Saint Martins and The Royal College of Art in London, where she also taught for ten years. She currently lives and works in Sweden as a Senior Lecturer at Konstfack University. She has published, lectured and exhibited internationally.

In 2010 her graphic novel adaptation of Joseph Conrad’s Heart of Darkness was awarded the Observer’s Graphic Novel of the Month and it has been translated into seven languages to date.
