Marianna Kurtto

Marianna Kurtto (b. 1980) is an acclaimed author who has published five poetry collections and two novels. For her works, she has won the Kalevi Jäntti and Tiiliskivi prizes and been nominated for the Helsingin Sanomat literary prize.

Her first novel Tristania was published to glowing reviews and nominated for the Nordic Council Literature Prize. The novel has been translated into German (Mare Verlag) and Russian (Polyandria No Age).

Kurtto is originally from Helsinki but has for the last few years lived in a writer-in-residence house in the Finnish countryside.
