Nine Pyramids

’’During the construction, too many people have asked where an idea like that can even come to mind. I have not provided anyone with a good answer.’’

A man leads a group that has built nine pyramids across Europe. The job culminates when the group rotates to inaugurate the pyramids in the different locations during one day only. Over the course of the day, the different stages of the work are being recalled: the persuasion of authorities, the construction problems, the ideas and the enthusiasm. The visual dimension is brought together by the Swedish artist Jan Svenungsson’s photographs and drawings.

A melancholy love story flows constantly in the undercurrent. After the work is complete and the pyramids are dismantled, it is perhaps the only thing that emerges, or at least the only thing that remains. Love.
