Flåklypa

Kjell Aukrust (1920-2002) is one of Norway’s most beloved authors and foremost illustrators. His first stories about the residents in Flåklypa came out in 1946. In Aukrust’s stories the cartoons had a significance far beyond illustrating the text. Drawings and text, humor and seriousness, adventurous inventions and long-lasting moods went hand in hand in everything that he created – from the wild ones of Flåklypa to the quiet wonders of Ludvig.

The art of Kjell Aukrust has been used in both films, theater and ballet. His drawings have been bought by the National Gallery (Nasjonalgalleriet) and his books are continues to be renewed for publishing.
