Finnish Nordicbuddies was created out of the need for a Moomin collection for young stylish adults. The children that grew up with the 90s Moomin animation are now adults and fans of Moomin just as their children and parents. Lasse Lähteenmäki, the founder Moomin by Nordicbuddies, explains that before Nordicbuddies, he experienced a lack of stylish Moomin collections in his taste; ”We created the collection for the international market, inspired by the latest trends from the fashion world. Moomin are both pioneers and daring and that is what we want Nordicbuddies to be all about”.

Nordicbuddies creates street style Moomin apparel and accessories. The brand was originally founded by Lähteenmäki to fill what he considered a void of trendy Moomin collections for adults. The collections are bold and distinct, and surely stand out on the streets. As Lähteenmäki self mentioned: “Moomin are both pioneers and daring and that is what we want Nordicbuddies to be all about.”

Apparel & Accessories

The first Moomin by Nordicbuddies collection was launched in 2019, new collections are continuously launched for each season.

In a very short time, Nordicbuddies has become one of the most successful Moomin licensees. In 2022, Nordicbuddies was awarded “Rising Star” at the Moomin Licensee Meeting, with the motivation: “With a finetuned combination of colour, design and artwork, Nordicbuddies has taken everyday apparel to a higher level. Through extremely active and focused sales activities, they have had tremendous success and increased their royalties by +100% annually, making them stand out from all competition.“
