Design House Stockholm’s collaboration with Carl & Karin Larsson selected as a finalist in 2021 Licensing International Excellence Awards

For 36 years, the Licensing International Excellence Awards have served as the pinnacle of achievement in the global brand licensing industry. This year, Design House Stockholm has been selected as a finalist in the category Home Décor for their creative furniture collaboration with Carl & Karin Larsson, Carl Larsson-gården Sundborn.

 

More than 180 judges from 21 countries were assigned to narrowing down the record-setting entries to the 150+ finalists across 22 categories. Design House Stockholm is one of six finalists in the Home Décor category with the following nomination:

 

“Design House Stockholm decided to reach across the centuries and dress up 9 objects selected from their contemporary collection of accessory furniture pieces with 4 of the bold colors of Karin Larsson, a legend of Swedish art and design. The collection is a part of the heritage licensing program for Carl and Karin Larsson’s Family Association that works to keep Carl and Karin’s cultural heritage alive for future generations. The collection was launched at Stockholm Furniture Fair 2020. The pre-launch took place at the distinguished National Museum in Stockholm, with over 150 renowned design guests, influencers, journalists and buyers.”

 

Rights & Brands is the worldwide agent on behalf of the Swedish legendary artists Carl and Karin Larsson. The collaboration with Design House Stockholm was launched at the Stockholm Furniture Fair in February 2020.

Design House Stockholm’s contemporary collection includes accessory furniture with straightforward and functional simplicity that pays tribute to the creativity of the Larsson family. The oak is treated with a Japanese glaze four times to ensure a rich and smooth finish. The selection of designers, who have all chosen their own favorite color, includes Lina Nordqvist (Family Chair), Gunilla Allard (Exit Trolley), Karl Malmvall (Step Ladder), Chuck Mack (Arco Sidetable), Mathieu Gustafsson (Air Cabinet), Atelier 2+ (Greenhouse)
