In a collaboration with Karin & Carl Larsson, Carl Larsson-gården Sundborn, furniture company Möbelmästarna has created a beautiful furniture line, directly interpreted by the original furniture from the estate in Sundborn. It’s a series of furniture with the characteristic color palette from Karin and Carl Larsson’s house, made to fit in the classic and modern home.
When Karin and Carl Larsson inherited a small cottage with three rooms from Karin’s father in 1888 no one could have guessed what a stylistic heritage the couple would leave behind. Together, they designed and built one of the most famous artist homes in the world. Karin was in charge of the entity design and created light and airy rooms with furniture, art and textiles in a mix of Swedish “Allmoge” aesthetic and international trends. She herself designed several of the rustic furniture and textiles. The color palette was bold and especially the green and red colors were in focus.
The classic piece “Blomstertrappan” is a shelf that Karin Larsson designed to keep her flowers in.
The furniture comes in several sets of colors. Here is the chair “Sundborn” in white, placed at the iconic dinner table setting in Sundborn.
Karin and Carl’s free sense of style has characterized the interior for several generations and is still a highly current source of inspiration today. With the Sundborn collection, Möbelmästarna has the great honor of preserving the cultural heritage that the couple left behind.
The furniture has a significant and personal style and is also adapted to fit in perfectly in today’s homes. Customers may choose and mix freely to combine with other furniture, old as new, in true Larsson fashion.
Sebastian Windin, E-commerce Manager at Möbelmästarna comments on the collaboration:
“We are incredibly happy that the Carl Larsson estate has chosen to do this collaboration with us at Möbelmästarna. To be a part of a Swedish cultural heritage in the form of a complete series of furniture is something we are very proud of.”
