A beautiful wallpaper collection inspired by the famous artist couple Carl & Karin Larsson was just launched. This is the first drop in a new wallpaper series by Sandberg Wallpaper that is an homage to the life that Carl & Karin Larsson had at the Carl Larsson Estate in Sundborn.
Sandberg wallpaper is a Swedish design company founded by the Sandberg family. Sandberg creates high quality, hand painted wallpapers in a Scandinavian style and is a purveyor to the royal court of Sweden. Sandberg explains that their wallpapers are designed with the hope of making a beautiful home even more extraordinary with a story behind them.
Their new collection “Huset i solen” is a licensing collaboration with Carl & Karin Larsson, The Carl Larsson Estate and Rights & Brands. Sandberg says that this collection was created with a big portion of love and joy and is a tribute to Carl & Karin. The collection Huset i solen is a tribute to the artist couple, their lifestyle and the home that they created together.
This style is called “Ett Hem”. Ett Hem, also known as Huset i solen (A Swedish home), was an album published by Carl Larsson in 1899. The album was a collection of 24 different aquarelles that depicted the family’s life at Lilla Hyttnäs. The album was a great success and is said to be the very first reportage from a Swedish home.
