The new Mamma Moo feature film, Mamma Moo Finds Home (“Mamma Mu hittar hem”), is finally premiering in cinemas in the Nordic countries – starting with Sweden on September 9, 2022. The film introduces a brand-new character called the Stork.
The story about Mamma Moo and the Crow started on a radio show by Jujja and Tomas Wislander in 1984 and the quick minded, sarcastic but yet warm characters was an immediate success. In the 1990’s we could finally see how the odd couple looked, as they were drawn by the popular illustrator Sven Nordqvist, and they conquered the bookshelves of children all over the world. In 2008 SF Studios brought the characters to life in their first feature film and over 170 000 people watched it in movie theatres. In this new movie, SF Studios promises that the ambition level has been risen even more.
“Mamma Moo finds her way home” (Mamma Mu hittar hem) premieres in Sweden on September 9 after having been postponed due to Covid restrictions in 2021. The film has been directed by Christian Ryltenius and written by Peter Arrhenius. The voice of Mamma Moo is done by Rachel Mohlin, The Crow by Johan Ulveson, and the brand-new character the Stork (Storken) is potrayed by Tiffany Kronlöf.
Mamma Moo wants to see the world and the Crow has of course already seen it all. But when the Stork appears on the farm and wants to build a nest, the Crow Is challenged by someone who has actually seen the world.
Mamma Moo gets a feeling that there’s so much more out there, beyond her pastureland and the crow tries to, in every way possible, convince Mamma Moo to stay where she belongs and act like a normal cow – but it doesn’t really turn out as he planned…
Since the first book about Mamma Moo was published in 1993 as much as 17 books has been published and translated into 36 languages.
Mamma Moo Finds Home has the following premiere dates in the Nordic countries:
