Anna is a little girl who likes to do things by herself. She likes to build things and she prefers to make her own decisions. She knows how to, for she is a clever little girl! She also has a good friend, the world’s tallest uncle. Tall Uncle is tall and thoughtful, and little Anna is small and very brave. Together they make a great team!
One day, as Tall Uncle is sitting under a tree, he feels something move in his pocket! What could it be? He calls little Anna for help and they find something very strange…
They discover that Tall Uncle has an odd collection of animals – a turtle, a snake, a bird and a butterfly in his magical pocket. There’s also a bat and a crocodile! There are so many animals that Tall Uncle needs little Anna’s help to handle all the creatures, and Anna has no room for all of them in the house.
This book was first published in 1973, and revived into a new edition in 2001.
