Prisoners in Paris

Rolle the Viking has come to plunder Paris with his accomplices, the blunderers Ivar and Grym, but they fail again and again to get into the city.

Rolle’s patience is coming to its end, and good advice is expensive. Ivar and Grym understand that there is only one person that can save them. With difficulty, they kidnap Siri and Zack and take them to Paris to present Siri to a suspicious Rolle.

Can a little child really help wild Vikings? Now Siri has to do as she would help Rolle, and at the same time protect Paris and its inhabitants from the Viking attack. Luckily, she has her friend Zack with her, and they get unexpected help.

Prisoners in Paris is the third part in the series about Siri the Viking. Siri the Viking is a comic series aimed at middle-grade readers. The series mixes imaginative adventure with historical settings and facts about the Viking age.

The comic format encourages reluctant readers, and fans of Asterix will get to experience the Viking stories through the eyes of a young girl. Many aspects of Viking life are portrayed in a historically accurate way, and a lot of information highlighted in special fact boxes.

Reviews

  • The Swedish Academy of Comic Art

"This series about the courageous and charming Viking girl Siri is no less than a masterpiece. A children’s comic series in the same category as the best international works."

  • The Swedish Research Institute in Istanbul (SRII)

"With a swift plot, well researched illustrations and a tough little girl in the lead, Siri the Viking is a reading experience for all ages. Not the least does it convey a story about cultural encounters in the Middle Ages, which should be written about more often in our time."
